Ski School:

El Colorado has a School and a Mini School of Ski and Snowboard with 80 internationally certified instructors who deliver bilingual ski and snowboard lessons for beginners who want to learn to ski or for those looking to perfect their skills and venture into the backcountry areas.

The advantage of taking ski lessons is that you can quickly learn the proper techniques for skiing and snowboarding in a safe and entertaining way.

For this, there are private classes, where a professional instructor dedicates himself exclusively to the needs of their students. The classes can be shared with a friend, relative or another skier with the same level.

There are also group lessons for different levels of ski. In the case of snowboarding, classes are held during the morning and afternoon so you can quickly learn to master and venture on the trails of El Colorado.

The schedule of the Ski School is from 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM.

Mini School:

For children there is a Mini Ski School that includes ski lessons, games and other learning and recreational activities by experienced instructors.

All children should have the right clothes in order to practice these winter sports, such as goggles or glasses, sunscreen, hat or helmet and gloves. They should also wear boots and ski equipment without sticks and carry the class ticket that is purchased at the Ski School in the main building, El Parador.

Its programs are aimed at both children and beginners who already know the how to stop. For beginners, the first lessons are to get used to the snow and get to know the team, the weight of the boots and the length of the skis. If the child advances quickly, it is possible to advance him/her to personalized classes.

Children who know how to stop or slow down can begin to internalize themselves with the first means of elevation, like the rope, since the Mini School has two. They will also learn the basics of turns. Before hitting the slopes, the instructor will evaluate all the children and see if they can properly use the wedge.

It is recommended that adults do not enter the Mini School if the instructors have not authorized it, and that children should have the maximum concentration for their learning.
The Mini School schedules are from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, in the morning; and from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM in the afternoon.

Branch Ski:

Branch Ski and Snowboard in El Colorado is a program that provides eight hikes on Sundays, with 5 hours of daily activities at the ski center, including ski and snowboard lessons with instructors from the National School of Ski Instructors (ENISCHAG ) and where children and young people aged from 4 to 18 years of age from different schools in Santiago can participate.

The objective of this activity is to promote healthy living, companionship and physical and mental health for children through the skiing, snowboarding and contact with the mountain and nature.

Participants receive a Dia Mayor Ticket as a gift; a tubing ticket as a gift as well; 15% off Ski and Snowboard School in El Colorado for their direct families; 15% discount on equipment rentals; 15% discount on lockers; Special prices on lunch at the restaurant El Parador; $ 8,000 Chilean pesos in transportation to the ski center on the official bus of El Colorado, there and back; as well as special preferential values on seasonal tickets for them and their direct families.

In each class, an educational and entertaining environment is achieved where children learn techniques to overcome adverse situations in the mountains such as low visibility, runway trails, cold, etc. Also, it allows the development of recreational and competitive skills, while generating friendships.

In La Rama de Ski (Ski Branch) children learn of the best posture to use skis or boards; responsibility of their equipment, such as putting away and taking care of their gloves, skis, etc; as well as respect for the environment.

All children aged 4 to 8 are evaluated before they start classes to allow them to see if they like the winter sports. After this, they are divided into groups of 8 to 10 students, who work with a particular instructor.

Each class begins at 9:15 AM, which all students must be in full equipment in front of the El Parador building. The schedule runs until 12:30 PM, where they have a break until 2:00 PM for lunch; and then continue in the afternoon until 4:00 PM.
