Bars and Restaurants
Portillo serves healthy, hearty, international cuisine that constantly receives rave reviews from our guests. There is a daily set menu, with a la carte options if a guest does not find something to his or her liking. Our bread and desserts are baked fresh daily in the hotel. Vegetarian options are available, and our kid's menu is as popular with parents as it is with kids. Main Dining RoomPortillo Hotel's grand leather-and-wood dining room is open for breakfast from 8am to 10am, lunch from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, high tea from 5pm to 6pm, and dinner from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. Dinner is served in two seatings. Our maitre d', Juan, assists with choosing a table for the week, so that guests feel at home as they make friends with their waiters. Dress for dinner is nice but casual; while clean jeans are fine, Portillo guests often enjoy dressing fashionably. South Americans take pride in their appearance and consider practices such as wearing a baseball cap to the dining room to be bad manners. Tio Bob's Mountain Restaurant
This stunning, high-mountain restaurant has a deck overlooking the Inca Lake and a view of the surrounding Andes Mountains. Lunch at Tío Bob's consists of barbecued meats and fish, as well as a selection of side orders and salads. Some of our guests have been known to spend entire afternoons on Tío Bob's patio, soaking up the glorious natural beauty of the setting while chatting over a beer or two! Tío Bob's may be hired for private parties at night, a wonderful event that is accessed by an evening ride up a chairlift, under a blanket of stars. The Portillo Bar
Portillo's Bar is one of the hotel's great attractions due to its cozy interiors and the fun to be had there. Guests enjoy sitting next to the fireplace or perhaps right at the bar itself. We serve a bar menu of sandwiches and appetizers during the afternoon, and fondues are available during the evening. Live bands play in the bar every night. The Bar may also be hired for private parties. Chilean Pisco Sours are often the drink of choice. Self - Serve CafeteriaThe cafeteria is located on the first floor and operates during the same hours as the main dining room. Inca Lodge guests and day skiers normally dine in the Cafeteria. Portillo's Ski School also dines in the cafeteria, and is therefore often a place full of good humor. The Posada Restaurant
This rustic restaurant is at the end of the driveway and is a hang-out for Portillo's employees; however, guests enjoy going there, too, for a little local Chilean flavor. The Posada is known for parties that sometimes make the walls shake. |
