Services, Entertainment and Activities for Kids

Portillo is exceptionally kid- and family-friendly, offering fun activities in a safe environment that allows parents to relax and spend much-needed time alone together. Kids love our extensive facilities and activities, and often meet other kids to play and hang around with. Our staff treats kids as if they were family.

Portillo's Kids Ski Free Promotion is impossible to beat: kids 12 and under stay, eat and ski for free the first and last three weeks of the season. Offer is limited to one child per parent in same family, staying in same room. Two children may stay in a separate room of equal or less value. Full 7-day ski week required for eligibility. • Kid’s Camp:

  In the Kid's Camp there are classes for children from 4 to 6 years or age. The scheduled hours are from Sunday through Friday, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM; and between 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. For both schedules you must present yourself 15 minutes early.
  Between 12:00 and 16:00 parents must pick up their children to take them to lunch, and then be back in the afternoon to continue training.
  Another alternative is the private lessons that can be taken from 4 years of age and up. Children who are 7 years of age or higher can participate in group ski lessons.

• Races for kids:

  All children involved in some sort of ski program or in Kids Camp are enrolled in the ski race of Sol de Portillo. The race is carried out every Thursday on the Puma and Corralito tracks, and has been a tradition of the ski center for 50 years. Once the children feel safe on the Plateau track, they may participate in the main race of Sol de Portillo.

• Game Room:

  In the basement of the hotel there is a game room with a field and a fully equipped billiards table, ping pong, table soccer and a wall for indoor climbing. Also in the living room of the Portillo Hotel children can enjoy the arcade games for young and adults.

• Nursery:

  For younger guests between the ages of 0 and 3 years of age, there is a nursery to care for them, or a private nanny service. The nursery is used by hour and day, and the private nanny has an additional cost per child. The service is from 8:30 PM and it is only available for 4 hours and must be solicited a day in advance.

• Kid’s Menu:

  The main dining room of Hotel Portillo offers a special menu for the little ones, with meals like spaghetti, chicken nuggets and burgers. This special service is given every day starting at 19:30.

• Nursery / Child Care:

  We offer complimentary daycare staffed by trained childcare professionals. This service for children 0 to 7 years of age is located in the first floor of the hotel and operates from 9am to 8pm. Private baby-sitting services are available for an extra charge.

• Kid's Camp Ski Lessons:

  The Portillo Ski School operates Kid's Camp Ski School lessons for children 4 to 6 years. This fun program operates Sun-Fri from 10am to noon and 2:30pm to 4:30pm, allowing parents to take their own lessons or enjoy time alone.

• Sol de Portillo Race for Kids:

  Every Thursday, our Sol de Portillo race is an event that is enjoyed by every guest, both beginners and experts, but especially kids. We always recommend that parents sign their kids up for the race, which culminates with an evening awards ceremony making both the kids and the parents proud and happy!

• Après-ski entertainment for kids:

  Our kid's entertainment and activities director plans a daily afternoon program for younger kids, which includes a hotel tour, bread baking, scavenger hunt and other activities.

• Game Room:

  This giant room is filled with pool tables, ping pong tables, foosball, video games and happy kids. Ice creams, sodas, and candy are for sale. The game room is supervised for kids' safety.

• Kids Menu:

  The main dining room offers a special menu with foods kids like to eat, making parents' lives easier at meal time.
