My family and I were scheduled to stay at Portillo (mid June) for the week but they were closed due to lack of snow. We decided to take a flight to Concepcion and go to Termas de Chillan resort. It was a good choice. Very nice facilities and staff.

To ski we took the bus then walked thru volcanic ash and mud to get to the lift. It was beautiful though when we got to the top of the lift. Great snow conditions, views and not to cold.

All in all a very good trip.

Termas de Chillán

If you like tons and tons of snow, this is the place. It is low elevation and pretty flat, but it sees a ton of powder days every year. I ride, so I may be biased, i can see that there is limited real steep terrain.

Also, please be safe in the bc in chillan. Because of the different types of layers and large snow loads Chillan gets, it can be very unstable. I have seen a lot of slides here.
