Valle Nevado Ski Resort:

Valle Nevado ski resort has some of the highest quality snow in Chile, because of its location at 3 thousand meters of height. It counts with modern infrastructure and the best equipments to give an excellent service to its visitors, that want to enjoy the white sports in the wonderful summits of the Chilean Mountain.

This ski resort is created with the inspiration of French ski resorts and modern buildings, hotels and equipments, such as Andes Express ski lift, the most advanced of southern hemisphere. Valle Nevado is also close to other ski resorts like La Parva and El Colorado so the passengers can visit them and participate in mountain excursions in winter and summer.

This ski resort offers the biggest skiable surface of South America, three hotels, eight restaurants, apartments and all amenities for the passengers, making of Valle Nevado not only a winter resort, but a relaxing place for all the family.

Valle Nevado, the largest ski center in South America, is located 46 kilometers east of Santiago, Chile. It has excellent quality of snow because of its height and orientation and a privileged climate, with 80% of clear days in the season.

The story of Valle Nevado begins in 1987 and in 1988 the doors of this ski center were opened, located in the middle of the Andes, inspired by the winter resort Les Arcs and winter resorts of France.

Since 1998 Nevado Valle began to develop as a comprehensive center and in 2001 the Andes Express chairlift was opened, the first detachable lift in South America, which distinguishes itself over other ski resorts in the region.

Since then Valle Nevado has shown concern in remodeling their hotels, have state of the art facilities like two boarding carpets on the El Prado and El Mirador lifts, and the Magic Carpet in the Snow Garden (Jardin de Nieve) as well as the Mirador del Plomo.

In 2010 new lifts were installed, one double chairlift and a teleski, in addition to opening five new trails. Work began on Curve 17, where more than 300 new parking spaces and outlets for equipment rental were opened to the public and also a ski school and ticket booths.

Currently, the facilities of the restaurant La Fourchette and the Hotel Valle Nevado feature a completely renovated environment, aimed at comfort, relaxation and enjoyment for their passengers.

Because of its excellent facilities, Valle Nevado since 2003 has been the home to one of the fixtures of the Snowboard World Cup.

Valle Nevado is also a few kilometers from the ski resorts La Parva and El Colorado, forming The Three Valleys of the Andes, so it offers multiple possibilities for mountain activities and trips in winter and summer as well.

June - October

Skiing at Valle Nevado

With more than 23.000 acres of skiable domain Valle Nevado is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere. SnowBoarding

Valle Nevado hosted the first event on the 2003/2004 Snowboard FIS World Cup circuit- the only southern hemisphere stop on the tour. Be prepared for world-calibre competition. With more than 9,000 acres of riding, more than thirty-five groomed trails and superb Andean meadows of off-piste terrain, this is the largest resort for riding in the summer months. It offers for the second season, the hemisphere's first Super Half-Pipe.
